OPERA
The experiment OPERA (Oscillation Project with Emulsion tRacking Apparatus) has been planned to provide the first direct evidence of the appearance of tau neutrinos in the beam of muon neutrinos that, generated at CERN (CNGS project), have reached the underground laboratory. OPERA has been taking data from2008 to 2012 and the observed events have confirmed the oscillation of mu neutrinos to tau neutrinos.
