MACRO

MACRO (Monopole, Astrophysics and Cosmic Ray Observatory) has been a huge detector meant to study secondary cosmic radiation particles and magnetic monopoles and to observe neutrinos from stellar collapses. The experiment, running from 1989 to 2000, has contributed to the study of neutrino oscillation and composition of cosmic rays, exploiting also the connections with the experiment EAS-TOP located at Campo Imperatore.
