Internal/external view of the steel sphere of Darkside-50, experiment devoted to direct search of a type of particles most likely candidate to constitute dark matter, the WIMPs. The sphere, filled with a liquid scintillator and equipped with 110 photomultipliers, represents an active veto meant to recognize and remove neutron interference signals.
